Cars Converge on Richmond in Attempted ‘Takeover’
After an attempted “car club takeover” in Richmond, Virginia, Saturday night, one man is behind bars with nearly a hundred summonses issued between Richmond and Henrico police. Officials first learned of the attempt through social media when an individual posted a video in one of the six locations, in which they were able to monitor planned movements. The video showed hundreds of cars and people gathering in a parking lot at Southside Plaza. Authorities were then dispatched and diffused one of the meet-ups. There were at least three hundred drivers that participated in the attempted ‘organized takeover,’ which mainly consisted of outsiders and some Richmond residents.
“Your honor, my client did it for the vine.” Senior Noah Backus said jokingly.
