Elkins High Schools JV and Varsity boys basketball team took a win over their Randolph County rivals this Wednesday at Tygarts Valley. The stands were filled up very quickly after doors were opened, with every seat being taken. The EHS student section traveled with them, even taking a separate bus for student supporters so they could get there before all tickets were sold. There was a staggering line outside of the court with people awaiting the doors to open.

“The student section was fun, and we represented our school very well,” said EHS student Max Howell. Howell along with many other students led the school chants and brought enormous energy to the court.

What seemed like a battle between the two schools took place, with both student sections chanting out in school spirit for their teams. Although it was mostly a casual game, multiple instances of conflict broke out between Tygarts Valley parents and EHS students after a piece of Tygarts Valley merchandise was ripped by a student. Observing officers intervened and solved the situation with ease, and the game went on to be a 64-45 point win for the Tigers.
