On Monday, August 15, 2022, Elkins High students started their school year off with an open house for the upcoming school year. Freshman were welcomed with an orientation, school tour, free t-shirts, and a photo ID.

Open House began from 5:30-5:55pm, where students could receive schedules in the hallway across from the gymnasium. Thereafter was a short presentation for students and their guardians. After the presentation, students proceed to meet their teachers and know what supplies were needed for the upcoming school year.

Considering some students and families could not make it to this event. Elkins High School held another event for students to pick up their schedules and parking passes on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 1-4pm. Parking forms were to be filled out before primary time.

Principle Carla Lambert stated, “This is the first time that we had an open house at the beginning of the school year, where parents could meet the teachers. I was really thrilled with the turnout because of the big crowd.”
