As Amy Dong and Madalynn Ferguson laced up their Scottish ghillies. They were ready to perform at Mountain Memories with the younger students they taught. Madalynn and Amy helped these students in many ways.
“We planned and narrated a show with some of the kids that we teach, and then some that other teachers in our group teach. So we came up with a set list of dances they would do. We organized them accordingly so that everyone had breaks in between their dances and then we came up with narrations to present the dances and helped take pictures,” Amy said.
For the pair, Highland dance is very competitive in both of their views, but it is also built on a community of kind and caring people.
“Personally I really like competing because I like seeing my hard work in the studio get paid off,” Ferguson said.
