Everyone listens to music, whether through their phone or in the grocery store, music is everywhere. The students of Elkins High School took a survey to see how everyone interacts with music.
“I use spotify because I like the layout and I find it easier to use than other platforms.” Rue Fulton said.
The Survey says 58% of students use Spotify, 30% use Apple Music, and 2% use Pandora.
10% of students use other platforms such as: Youtube, Soundcloud, and Trebel.
“I use my phone to listen because I can take it with me everywhere and listen with airpods.” Fulton said.
A big part of how music is listened to is what device people listen with, 10% of students use headphones, 66% use earbuds, 11% use speakers, and 13% use all three.
“I listen to music the most at school because there is a lot of noise and I don’t like it.” Brooklyn said.
The most important thing when listening to music is where you listen to music. 50% of students listen to music at home, 31% of students listen to music at school, and the other 19% of students listen to music while doing tasks like working and cleaning.
Bonus question on the survey was what is your favorite genre of music. The top three genres were Pop, Country, and Rap.
