Lana Del Rey is one of the most influential artists of our decade. She pioneered through the genre of pop with her own twist. Rey’s style was vastly different from the other artists of the 2010’s. Her lyrics were filled with melancholy backed by uptempo beats. Lana’s emotional tones inspired several artists like Billie Ellish, Lorde and Halsey. Lana’s music includes references to pop culture and is inspired from earlier Americana artists. Her album “Born to Die” hit the US’s billboard 200 in less than a week of its release. Unlike other popular albums released, “Born to Die” was anti-culture and “anti populist”.
