Senior year for high school students is a crossroads for many. It is a time of decisions and excitement. Graduation marks the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one. With so many options, today’s students are carving out unique journeys that reflect their interests and goals.
Alyssa H.
Alyssa says that she wants to “go into the Davis & Elkins College nursing program for my associate’s degree in nursing and I want to go to college to further my education and get a degree for a better career. I think college is very important to be successful in life and get everything you want!”
Alyssa added that, “if you’re thinking about college and you’re nervous about it, talk to anyone you can and do your research and be as prepared as you can, you got this!”

Bryer M.
Bryer M. plans to go to Fairmont State University and do evasion. He wants to be a commercial pilot. “I think college is important because you can’t just graduate high school for your career, you need a diploma and a better education. In ten years I see myself living in Texas with a house and working as a pilot.”

Abby S.
Abby S. wants to go to Davis & Elkins College and be a dental hygienist. “I want to go to college so I can get a good education and pursue my career. I think that it’s important to go to college because the job I want to pursue requires a diploma, and to gain certifications and degrees in world health care.
Abby added, “In ten years I see myself working a full-time job with a family.”
Rori Riddle
Rori wants to go to Davis & Elkins College to get her nursing degree. “ I think college is important because its a good way to continue your education and gain more knowledge so you can get a better job and better opportunities.” Rori said.
Katherine Hinchman
After school, Katherine wants to attend Fairmont State University and major in forensic science. “Once I graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree, I want to become a crime scene investigator.” Katherine H. said.
“I want to go to college to be able to achieve my goals, continue [my] education, and grow academically and make more friends.” She thinks college is “not necessary. You do not have to attend college to be successful in life. You can do whatever you desire.”
Katherine added, “If I’m not able to go to college, my alternative would probably be opening a tattoo shop or being a CNA just like my mom.”
