Mx. Straughan, is teacher at Elkins High School and advisor of Claw and Ink.
What is Claw and Ink?
“Calw & Ink is a literary magazine of collective writing from our creative writing class and from any student that wants to submit works.”
What are you as the advisor of Claw & Ink what are you hoping for the future of Claw & Ink?
“What I want to see is having a tangible published work that we are able to share not only within our school community, but community as a whole. As someone who has collaborated extensively with many people in our community right downtown from us, we want to expand the idea the writing is part of a community as well. Having opportunities to collaborate is good for our communities of writers.”
Will you share any writing in Claw & Ink?
“Yes, as of right now, I am working on my personal writing study throughout February, so hopefully, I will have something done by the time submissions are due. However, I know that I have a lot of things I am working on, but I don’t want to overshadow the pieces from the community in our publication because the highlight should be on the student body.”
