As the SAT test date nears, and we move further into the school year, students are preparing for one of the most crucial exams in their high school career.
On April 8, 2025, all Junior students will be taking the School Day SAT. This test not only measures college and career readiness but also opens doors for scholarships. Additionally, EHS will be holding a Technology Readiness Day on March 31, 2025. On this day, make sure your Chromebook is fully charged. Juniors will spend the morning taking a practice SAT test via the Bluebook app.
Each student has been given a School-Day SAT guide, which provides detailed information about the test. Review this guide as part of your preparation.
Last-Minute Study Tips
Focus on Weak Areas: Review past practice test results and target the sections where you struggle most.
Practice Under Timed Conditions: Simulate the test environment by setting a timer for each section to build endurance.
Brush Up on Grammar and Math Formulas: The Writing section often tests common grammar rules, and the Math section requires knowledge of key formulas.
Read Actively: The Reading section isn’t just about comprehension—it’s about analyzing text efficiently. Practice reading passages with purpose and identifying key details quickly.
Once the SAT is over, take a moment to relax—you’ve earned it! Scores are typically released within two to three weeks. If your score isn’t what you hoped for, you may have the opportunity to retake the test on another date. Many students see improvements with additional practice and preparation.
“I’ve taken several practice tests at home, while also studying for hours. Despite this, I am still worried about the SAT. I feel like it’s a stressful time, especially for people with test anxiety”, Rue Fulton says.
