On Monday, May 19, the Elkins High School Band will perform its Spring Concert in the Elkins High School Auditorium. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm with free admission. This concert will showcase all of the hard work and dedication the band members and Mr. Blake put in all year to create the concert experience.
“I’m excited,” Zahra L, a Senior at Elkins High School and the Elkins High School Band Manager, said. “Since our last concert, the band has been working non-stop on these new songs. They have worked diligently with the small amount of time given, between the snow days and other events, some kids have been taking their instruments home and practicing in their free time. I’m excited to see their hard work pay off.”
The band will be performing their rendition of Mystery on Mena Mountain, Stay, Alma Mater, Fantasia, How to Train Your Dragon, and more. At this concert, they will also recognize their Seniors in their “Multi-Media Extravaganza,” which will showcase the pictures sent in by the Seniors.
“I’m proud of the seniors because even with senioritis kicking in, they are still showing up and putting in the effort,” Zahra L said. “Leaving the band family behind will be difficult for all of us Seniors, but we will go on to do great things and I’m looking forward to see where all of my fellow Seniors go in life.”
