Elkins High School held its Freshman Orientation on Thursday, August 14, 2025, for the incoming Class of 2029.
The event began this morning with registration at the main entrance, followed by a presentation in the EHS Theater. Administrators and staff introduced themselves, discussed school policies, and provided information about student life and academic expectations.
After the presentation, the freshmen were served pizza in the cafeteria. Students used the time to eat, meet classmates, and prepare for the rest of the evening’s activities.
Later tonight, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., students in all grades will tour the building, find their classrooms, and meet their teachers. The EHS Media Center will distribute Chromebooks to students during this time.

At 8:00 p.m., the “Meet the Team” event will take place in the stadium, introducing the school’s fall sports teams. A bonfire pep rally will follow, concluding the evening’s events. Elkins High School welcomes the Class of 2029 to a year filled with learning, connection, and Tiger pride.
