Homecoming 2025 is a big event this fall that the students of Elkins High School are beginning to rave about. This year’s theme is Vintage Fairy Tales. This includes themes such as The Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Each student council class is beginning to put up its walls and brainstorm ideas for themed floats that will be featured in this year’s Homecoming Parade.
“I’m excited for the spirit of the Tigers band to play,” Addie Riffle, a Sophomore, said. “I’m also excited to see the floats constructed and designed by the student council classes. Even though I don’t get to view them in the parade, as I’m marching with the band, I love walking back to view them afterwards.”
This year’s Homecoming parade will take place on September 17th, and participants are already preparing to march. This parade features many floats representing fall sports, class representatives for the Homecoming Court, themed floats featuring student council members, and more.
“Yeah, I’d say I’m excited. It’s pretty lit, and we’ve put a lot of work into our music,” Cora Heron, a Sophomore, said. “I guess you could say we bring the spirit of the school. I personally would give our sound a 6 out of 7. Of course, what else would you expect of a united group like the Fighting Tigers band?”
Even beyond directing the band, Mr. Blake has been working hard alongside other faculty members to put this parade in order. Many members of the faculty, Elkins High School students, and the community have been putting in extensive efforts to make this parade a successful one.
“One of my favorite things to do is to be out in the community performing and sharing music with people.” Mr Blake, the music director at Elkins High School, said. “Everyone should come watch and enjoy the 2025 Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, September 17th!”
