Students’ well-being is a priority the school should take seriously. While they work to offer items and support that may be neglected in a student’s day to day life. It is important to put light on those resources and where someone can go for any variety of help.
The guidance office offers aid to students in a multitude of ways, whether it’s with technical problems or just an ear to listen.

“I feel like we have an open mind, and address problems for students.” Guidance Counselor Amanda Carter said. “Whether it’s accidents, helping pick what college to attend to, or fixing schedules. No day is the same.”
It is important to note that navigating the school website can be helpful when getting in touch with the guidance counselors. Going through the Guidance referral forms can allow someone to get in contact with those counselors.
Nurses are also on standby for physical health debriefs. Whether it’s for emergencies or checking temperatures of students feeling ill the nurse is always available to help and if she isn’t, she is able to be radioed.
“The average work day differs throughout the year. At the beginning of the year I have everyone looking for health forms, so I have to make sure they have their Physicians orders. Then if they carry epipens, or inhalers they have to have the signed forms.” Nurse Tiffany, said.
The school is also partnered with Valley Health. On Wednesdays, they can be found in a separate building that Tiffany can walk students to. They will be in the Media Center every Monday, and Friday as well.
But that’s not the only thing the Media Center holds, every monday-thursday tutoring is available for students who are falling behind or needing extra help on a certain subject. As the days are divided up depending on the subject.
“Monday and Tuesday are intro math, Algebra 1, and English 11 and 12. Wednesday and Thursday are geometry and our higher level math, things like Geometry, math modeling, transitions, and then English 9 and 10.” Mrs. Guillembet said. “No one is being tutored yet. I guess it’s kind of if the student wants to go or if the students have been referred by a teacher. After the midterm, students might have to be in there because of grades.”
