On Tuesday night, Elkins attempted to bounce back from their opening loss against Chapmanville against Preston High. Preston could not handle Elkins’ defense in the first half as they went into halftime only scoring 14 points as a team.
Things did not get better as Elkins opened up the half with an 8-0 run. The offense connected for Elkins as the tiger connected from beyond the arc 12 times.
Elkins bounces back with a dominant 75-47 win. Cory Harper led not only the Tigers in scoring but the entire game with 22 points. Preston’s leading score was tied between Zach Ferrell, Tristan Smith and Kaden Hayes; each scored 8 points. Elkins plays again on Thursday night against regional foe Liberty (Harrison) High.
