Tigers Cruise past Liberty
On Thursday night, the #4 Tigers were back in action taking on Big 10 foe Liberty. The Tigers established the press early and stuffed Liberty’s offense allowing Elkins to take an early 10-0 lead. Liberty was able to establish their footing in the second quarter and was able to go into halftime only down 27-22. The Tigers were able to open the third quarter swinging, starting the quarter off with an 8-2 run. Things got worse for Liberty as they were able to put up 7 points as a team in the fourth quarter and only put up 21 in the second half. Elkins easily takes the win on their home floor with a 72-43 final score. Malachi Watson had a team high and game high with 18 points. Jimmy Moore lead Liberty scoring with 16 points. Elkins improves to 2-1 and will back in action on Saturday, December 17 against local foe Tucker County at home.
