On Tuesday January 17th, the Tigers were on the road to face the Bearcats of Grafton. Elkins players probably had this game circled on the calendar going into the season due to Grafton defeating Elkins in the 2022 Region 2 Title game, 50-41. This game was pretty gritty for the first quarter with the game tied going into the second. Elkins was able to get an incredibly slight advantage going into halftime as they led 26-25. The third quarter is where the Tigers were able to pull this game away outsourcing the Bearcats 19-6. The Tigers kept the momentum going in the fourth as Elkins got their revenge with a 64-47 win. Ben Baines led the game’s scoring with 16 points. JT Veltri led Grafton scoring with 15 points. The Tigers improved to 8-4 and will return home on Thursday, January 19th against East Fairmont.
