Injured Tigers Fall At Bridgeport
On Thursday night, Elkins was on the road to take on the Indians of Bridgeport. Going into the game, the Tigers were already down star forward Harper due to injury. Things did not go better for the Tigers when Miller missed most of the game due to an injury suffered in the first half. Absences to two of their key players caused Elkins to be down 31-14 at halftime. Later to start the third, Bridgeport was able to balloon the lead up to 24 points. Then some of Elkins’ supporting cast gave some well needed points to dim the lead down to 13 entering the final quarter. Elkins still had their momentum going pulling the lead down to 7 with around 5 minutes to go in the game. After a trading of baskets Bridgeport was able to catch their second wind and pull out the victory, 53-39. Watson of Elkins and Spatafore of Bridgeport led scoring with 20 points. Elkins fell to 9-6 but will get time to recover as their next game is not until Thursday, February 2nd to take on our bitter rivals of the Colts of Phillip Barbour.
