Elkins High School freshman basketball player Gavin White shared his thoughts on playing on the newly renovated gym floor. The school began the renovation process in early November, completing it just before Thanksgiving break.
“I have played on the gym floor in basketball practice,” White said.
This year, the freshman basketball team is exclusively made up of first-year students, providing many players with their first high school basketball experience. For some, it serves as an opportunity to determine whether they want to continue playing throughout their high school years.
“High school basketball has been fun and a great learning experience to improve my skills,” White added.
The hope is that most freshmen will continue their basketball journey at EHS, building a strong foundation for the program’s future.
