On Monday, November 8th, Elkins High School held a veterans assembly for veterans in the community. Elkins High represented veterans from the VFW and American Legion. The assembly wasn’t able to be held with the whole student body due to Covid-19. The EHS Student Government Association (SGA) decided to hold this year’s function in the media center. The SGA showed appreciation for our veterans by presenting gifts and listening to stories from those who served. Veterans told students what branch they were in and how many years they had served, as well as personal stories from their time serving. Veterans day is on Thursday, November 11th, and school is out for the National Holiday.
