Astroworld Crowd Control

There are at least 9 dead and dozens injured after a crowd surge that occurred during Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston on Friday, November 5, 2021. When members of the densely packed crowd surged toward the stage they crushed and suffocated each other causing casualties. The known victims were of the following ages 14, 16, two 21, two 23, and a 27-year-old, however, the rest of the victims’ ages are still unknown and there are no reports of missing persons. There are at least 25 of them who were not killed but were hospitalized for their injuries. Thirteen of them remained hospitalized until Saturday afternoon and among them, five were under the age of 18. One of the five is 9 years old and is in a medically induced coma due to their injuries.
“That is honestly just awful.”, Senior Noah Backus said in disgust.
About 50,000 people attended the sold-out Astroworld Festival at NRG park which is located at a stadium complex consisting of the Astrodome and NRG Stadium. All of what was believed to be about 50,000 people rushed towards the stage compressing everyone together, robbing them of what little air was available to them. This in turn caused people to panic, shout for help, and made them fearful for their lives as they were afraid that they may suffocate due to the irrational crowd. Many begged for someone to help them because they could not breathe and were ignored for an extended period, but most finally got to safety due to crowd surfing.
“Travis may have encouraged or incited the crowd into making them act irrationally, but this is not confirmed to my knowledge as of yet and is just an assumption.”, Senior Ben Collett said.
Travis Scott will be covering the costs for the funerals of the 10 who were left dead as a result of the tragedy that occurred at the event. He will also be partnering with BetterHelp to provide free mental health services to all those affected by the tragedy. This all happens as a criminal investigation is being conducted into why exactly this took place and what security was like on the day of the said event. Travis Scott is facing more than 40 lawsuits from concertgoers despite him covering funeral costs of the dead and providing funds for mental health services to help those impacted by the tragedy.
Senor Noah Backus laughed maniacally at the thought of Travis Scott reaping what he sowed.
There have been two incidents that occurred in the past that are similar to what happened in Astroworld. First when he performed during the year 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas, and the second during the year 2015 at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois. Travis had been arrested at least two times following these concerts for inciting riots and disorderly conduct at his shows. In which he pleaded guilty to and was charged with misdemeanors. It is only a matter of time until he will be arrested and charged for the deaths that occurred during his concert at Astroworld.
“Travis Scott should most definitely be charged and sued for what happened during the concert.”, Senior Noah Backus firmly stated.
