French Creek Freddie Sees His Shadow

West Virginia groundhog French Creek Freddie says that there will be another six weeks of winter after seeing his shadow on Groundhog Day. People from all over the state gathered in Upshur County, where French Creek Freddie lives, to see if he would see his shadow or not.

Punxsutawney Phil, Pennsylvania’s Groundhog, also predicted another six weeks of winter.

Traditionally, if the groundhog gets spooked by seeing its shadow, this indicates another six weeks of winter is ahead. However, if the groundhog does not see his shadow, this is a good sign of spring coming six weeks early.
