Last Thursday night, Elkins High’s Football team traveled to East-West Stadium in Fairmont to try to pull off an upset win against No. 8 in AA Fairmont Senior.

Fairmont Senior Quarterback Whitehare was able to throw for a touchdown and run for two more. Running Back Lewis didn’t make the Tigers’ lives any easier as he gave Fairmont Senior two more touchdowns on the ground.

In the first half, Beam showed some speed as he gave Elkins their first score with a 94 yard kickoff return. The next Elkins score would have to wait until the fourth quarter when Bowers was able to run in for a touchdown from four yards out. Fairmont Senior however takes the win with a final score of 42-13.

Elkins goes to 1-8 on the year as they take on Buckhannon-Upshur on Friday in their season finale.
