Elkins Boys Slip In Recent High School Rankings ; Girls Receive Votes

In the recent AP poll for West Virginia basketball, Elkins fell two spots to number 6 in AAA. Elkins didn’t start the season the greatest when they lost to Chapmanville in their home and season opener. They were able to rebound and win three straight against Preston, Liberty and Tucker County. The Tigers would go 1-1 in an event in Maryland with a loss to Wicomico and a win against Crisfield. They currently sit with a 4-2 record.

The Lady Tigers were able to receive votes in the most recent girls polls. The Lady Tigers lost their season opener on the road at St. Albans. Then they were able to pull off 5 straight wins against Scott, Trinity Christian, Southern (MD), Preston and Liberty. They would participate in an event where they would lose to Cameron but would win against East Hardy. The Lady Tigers currently sit at 6-2.
