On Thursday night, #1 seed Elkins took on #2 seed Lincoln to see who would become Region 2 Section 2 tournament champions. The game opened up with Elkins getting a slight 5 point lead in the first. Lincoln had some fight in them in the second quarter as the lead was at two when the teams went to the locker rooms up 26-24. The third quarter was nothing but Elkins as they dropped 22 points in the quarter while only allowing 8. Lincoln outscored Elkins in the fourth but by the time Lincoln was getting a groove it was too little too late as Elkins for the second straight season is the Region 2 Section 2 tournament champions by a final score of 59-47. Watson led all scoring with 22 points. Rice led all Lincoln scoring with 12 points. Elkins will take on the loser of the Section 2 Region 1 championship game between East Fairmont and Fairmont Senior on Wednesday, March 8th.
