This year, our school switched from block scheduling to traditional periods, and students and teachers are feeling the difference. With shorter classes but more subjects each day, students say it’s been an adjustment to stay focused and keep up with homework. “It’s harder to remember everything because we have more classes each day,” said Junior Abigail McGilberry.
Teachers are also noticing changes in how they plan lessons. “I have less time with each class, so I have to be more focused and efficient,” explained Mrs. Looney, a science teacher.
Some teachers appreciate the change because it gives students more variety daily, while others miss the longer class periods for in-depth projects.
Overall, both students and teachers are learning to adapt to the new schedule, finding ways to stay organized and make the most of each class. As the semester continues, everyone hopes the change will help balance hearing with everyday school life.
