EHS Swimming Excels at Big 10 Championship

Freshman Sets Multiple Records

The Elkins High School swim team broke some outstanding individual records at the Big 10 Conference on January 29, 2022. The competition was hosted at the Bridgeport Sports Complex.

The boys swim team brought home the championship with Isaac setting records in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.29 seconds and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.98 seconds. Luke placed second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.36 seconds. Charlie placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:06.92.

The girls swim team came in fifth overall in the championship. Isabelle Judy placed 4th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:17.55 and fourth in the 200 IM. She and three other teammates, Joslyn, Ruby, and Kaleigh, finished 3rd in the 200 medley relay. The same relay team placed 4th in the 400 freestyle relay.

The swim team will compete in the regional championship later this month.
